DIEZA Public Internet Access Service Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”)
 

Access to and use of (”Service”) the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority’s (DIEZA) Public Wi-Fi (“Network”) is subject to the terms of this Policy.

In this Policy, any reference to “us” includes we, our or ours, and any reference to "you" as a user of the Service includes “your” or “yours”, whether you are the owner of the device used in availing the Service.

The Service is provided to you free of charge by DIEZA and is available for use in areas enabled with a DIEZ Public wireless local area network.  You agree to accept the terms hereof without limitation by accessing and using the Service.

Using The Network

To avail the Service, you need to connect your Wireless enabled computing device (the “Device”) to the Network. DIEZA does not guarantee that you can avail the Service immediately or whenever you attempt to connect.

Acceptable Use

Use of the Network is subject to the general restrictions outlined below. In addition, if abnormal, illegal, or unauthorized behaviour is detected, DIEZA reserves the right to permanently disconnect the offending Device from the Network. Below are examples of unacceptable/offending behaviour or activities while availing the Service.
  • Spamming and invasion of privacy - Sending unsolicited bulk or commercial messages over the Internet or utilize the Service for activities that invade another person's privacy.
  • Intellectual property right violations - Engaging in any activity that infringes or misappropriates the intellectual property rights of others, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, service marks, trade secrets, or any other proprietary right of any third party.
  • Accessing illegally or without authorization computers, accounts, equipment, or networks belonging to another party or attempting to penetrate/circumvent security measures of another system. This includes any activity that may be used as a precursor to an attempted system penetration, including, but not limited to, port scans, stealth scans, or other passive networks hacking activity.
  • Transferring technology, software, or other materials that violate applicable export laws and regulations.
  • Distribution of Internet viruses, Trojan horses, or other destructive activities
  • Distributing information regarding creating and sending Internet viruses, worms, Trojan horses, pinging, flooding, mail-bombing, or denial of service attacks. 
  • Activities that disrupt the use of or interfere with the ability of others to effectively use the node or any connected network, system, service, or equipment.
  • Visiting internet sites that contain obscene, hateful, pornographic, or otherwise illegal material. 
 Privacy
This privacy statement applies to the personal information we collect from you to provide the Service, or in connection with providing the Service. Personal information is information capable of identifying individuals i.e., users of our Service.
  Your privacy is important to DIEZA, and we will act responsibly with respect to any personal information we may collect from you. We will only collect, use and store personal information that you have supplied to deliver the Service in accordance with applicable legislation and the terms of this Policy.
  The following explains our information handling practices for providing the Service (and other services that may be requested by users or visitors).
Collection of Personal Information - To provide you with the Service, we only collect the personal information that you provided to us as part of our mandatory registration system (through our captive portal for this Service).
DIEZA collects your personal information at several different points on our captive portal and in the Service. DIEZA automatically collects and/or tracks (1) IP address and MAC address of the Device2) The type of Web browser and Operating Systems of the Device connecting to our captive portal and Service, to determine the best method to display information requested on your Device (3) the e-mail addresses you provide when accepting the terms of this Policy (4) monitoring the illegal usage activities on the provided WIFI service.
  DIEZA is not responsible for how a third party (including but not limited to any website accessed through the Network collects and uses personal information. Therefore, you are solely responsible for checking the terms of use and the privacy policy of each website you visit.  This privacy statement applies solely to information collected for the Service and does not apply to other websites operated by third parties.
Security
DIEZA has taken considerable measures to ensure that our systems are secure, and that the personal information we hold is protected from risks such as unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to do this. However, use of the Internet introduces security risks, especially when it is used to access or transmit information over a public Network. By availing the Service, you acknowledge and agree that these risks exist. Accordingly, DIEZA is not liable for any interception, malware, data loss, file corruption, hacking or damage to your devices that result from the transmission or download of information or materials through the internet service provided.

  DIEZA reserves the right to contact you regarding this Policy , or any other policies or agreements relevant to the Service’s users.
Notification of Changes
DIEZA reserves the right to change the terms of this Policy at any time without any notice to the users of the Service. However,  the revised Policy will be published and can be found on the captive portal of the Service. Accordingly, you are highlight advised to check the Policy from time to time. We will use information in accordance with the privacy statement under which the information was collected.
